interested in working the cardboard arcade?
This fall, we are planning our first ever community ed rendition of the Cardboard Arcade that will be offered to the public as part of our community outreach efforts. This will take place at Cherrywood Center (3804 Cherrywood Rd) on all Saturdays in October and culminate in an event on Nov 8 (in conjunction with Austin Studio Tour). We're looking for creative types who would like to work this program to facilitate the creation of a couple of groups' arcade games.
The details:
Pay: $25/hour
Training session (date TBD): 3 hours
Workshops: Oct 4, 11, 18, 25 - (10 a - 2 p)
Event: Nov 8 - (10 a - 4 p)
Lunch will be provided at all workshops + event day.
Ideal candidates:
are playful and confident in their ability to create collaboratively alongside youth and teens;
are creative problem solvers and able to think on their feet;
are dependable and punctual;
have great communication skills;
are excited to work with a diverse group of big kids (adults) to produce a big, magical event;
are available to work all or most of the workshop/event dates, though if you are really interested and can't make one of those dates, please reach out to discuss;
As we seek to provide programming to a wider, more diverse audience in Austin, we strongly encourage folks with some level of Spanish language proficiency to participate, though it is not required.
